Grilled Chipotle Honey Chicken Thighs

This has been my summer of grilling and I realize why I like it so much: it’s like theater!
You spend the time before your guests arrive marinating your meats, slicing your bread, readying your tongs, piling charcoal into your chimney. And then when the doorbell buzzes, it’s show time. Light that newspaper, brush that bread with olive oil, and let’s get the show on the road.
Our friend Toby came over for dinner last night and when he arrived I had so many delicious things ready to grill for him, starting with sliced sourdough bread.
No, I didn’t make the bread myself, but I did make a fresh fava bean topping and a whipped herbed ricotta topping using herbs from my porch.
