So when he started working for Wirecutter, I was instantly hooked. He’s the one who’ll tell you the best cast-iron skillet to buy, the best electric kettle, the best cutting boards (and how to maintain them).

He also makes his own clothes out of things like bags of sugar, dinner napkins (including what he’s wearing in today’s video), and vintage toile tablecloths:

Today’s hunt was, unsurprisingly, a real treasure trove — full of smart ideas, unexpected finds, and heirlooms from his grandmother and great-grandmother. I’ll list everything (with links) after the paywall.

Was I selfish when I started Kitchen Treasure Hunt? What’s your favorite rolling pin? What’s the grossest thing in your kitchen?
