Hey everyone,
Look out your window and you’ll see sun, most likely. You’ll also probably see leaves on trees, flowers on hills, and children traipsing through a meadow. Sorry, I thought I was Maria von Trapp for a second. Anyway, what I’m trying to say is that spring is here and there’s no better time to make a strawberry rhubarb pie.
No dessert tastes more like spring, in my humble opinion. And I love that combination of tart rhubarb with sweet strawberries; and the way the liquid bubbles up through the vents and looks like a jam volcano? This pie brings the drama.

You may be wondering who I made that pie for? Well Craig’s parents are visiting from Bellingham, Washington along with Craig’s aunt and uncle, Mary Beth and Charlie, from Boise, Idaho. This is actually Mary Beth and Charlie’s first time in New York City, so talk about pressure! Here they all are at the table with the chicken I made them.
What chicken? I’ll tell you….
