Hey everyone,
I’m writing to you from a hotel in Brooklyn where we’re in the middle of our apartment hunt. We’ve seen about six apartments so far, some very close to what we’re looking for, some not so much, but we’re feeling confident and ready!
While I’m busy loading and reloading StreetEasy, I have a fun new episode of Lunch Therapy to share with you. My patient today is Jeff Gordinier, author of the book Hungry (for which he traveled the world with Noma’s chef René Redzeppi), former food and drinks editor of Esquire, and frequent contributor to The New York Times (where he also reviews books of poetry).
In today's session, we learn all about Gordinier's new interest in eating healthy (and the toll the Best Restaurants list took on his body), why the pandemic essentially ended fine dining as we knew it, and how a man who doesn't drink can choose the best bars in the US. We also cover growing up in Southern California, the impact (or lack of impact) René Redzepi had on his cooking, and his love for making tea.
Listen to the whole thing here wherever you listen to podcasts!
See you back here next week, hopefully with news of a new NYC apartment :)
Your pal,
Adam
Good luck with the apartment hunting .. looking forward to a shared dining experience at some point.
