When I flew from Boston back to L.A., I was scanning through all of the viewing options on the Delta TV in the back of the seat in front of me, when I hit upon something surprising: a Master Class with Mashama Bailey, James Beard award-winning chef of The Grey in Savannah, GA.
I watched the whole thing and it was great! Unlike a typical hyper-edited cooking show, the MasterClass allowed Mashama to take her time, to stir slowly, to crack herself up with her plating, etc. The recipe that stuck with me the most was her succotash — recipe here — which I recreated the other night:
