Hey everyone,

I’ve been invited to not one, not two, but THREE holiday cookie parties here in NY this year. Two of them are asking me to bring cookies and since these parties are hosted by food people, there will be some discerning palates out there examining which cookies pass muster and which cookies will forever excommunicate the baker from all future cookie gatherings, holiday or otherwise.

Okay, I’m probably exaggerating: one of the party invites says you can just bring store-bought. But still! What’s a person like me, a zealous, over-thinking, slightly neurotic (very neurotic) home baker, to do in this situation? The answer, it turns out, is right there on my hand.
