That smothered cheese sandwich is blowing my mind! Wow--I definitely want to attempt this once tomatoes are back in season. Also, hello from Bellingham!

Loved this! That peach pie has really inspired me - one to put on my list for next summer I think! I think the best thing I ate this year was a chocolate torte in Spain at Easter - I can't stop thinking about it and desperately need to recreate it soon!

Loved this post and looking back over your wonderful meals. That pancake looks amaze-balls and why I may not make one huge one like you did, I have bookmarked her recipe for a future weekend morning. And the cake that Ben Mims made you is a true work of art! For me..I would say one of the best things I ate this year was pasta with white truffle shaved on top. My husband gifted me a white truffle for Christmas last year (he says I'm hard to buy for but this gift nailed it) and we enjoyed this early on in the new year. Happy Holidays to you all and enjoy the PNW!

Adam….a wonderful collage of a beautiful, event filled year. A nice rebound from a miserable COVID-y 2021!

My husband and I celebrated our 10 year anniversary at Majordomo. We had the sausage stuffed shishito peppers with ranch. They were SO good- perfectly crispy and salty, with just a little spice. The whole meal was great, but that’s the bite I can’t stop thinking about.

Mosquito ours, too. And we cooked our own gumbo night (for 10) from Melissa's JB-winning cookbook just a few weeks later. Haven't chopped that many onions since prison.

Thank you Adam, May I call you Adam?, for the recommendation for Txikito. We had fabulous tapas there last week. The gildas and the black lentils and the roasted pork, all delicious. Enjoy the holidays and happy new year. ☺️

what a year! that birthday cake was truly something else. and that your favorite [new] restaurant and drink come from a place that's in the city i live in...that never happens. now i might have to actually leave the house. damn.

i think my favorite thing i ate this year was a green enchilada sauce i adapted from the homesick texan that is now my go to, especially because it was back when still had some of our yearly supply of hatch green chiles in the freezer. all told i think i got twenty or thirty pounds this year (july/august) and yet we already ate them all...it's never enough. i think this year i might lose my mind and order 50lbs instead.

i also love when i visit my family and my mom makes a clamboil. my partner doesn't eat shellfish and it's too much to make for one person, so i love when i can go home and just eat my weight in clams and hot dogs and boiled onions and potatoes. bring it on!
