I made The Ultimate Summer Tomatoes sandwich few days ago, it was so good that I forgot to take pic of it..

Next time I'll send you a pic.

Thank you very much for the recipe.

That tomato sandwich looks delish, and really enjoyed the Q and A - Good and Sweet sounds like such a labour of curiosity and love. Off to order it from the library!

i'm going to check out brian levy's cookbook! i don't bake a lot (not because of all the sugar, but because it's usually me who ends up eating all of what i make) but this is intriguing. plus i have a bunch of milk powder after buying it for a recipe one time and i have no idea what to do with the rest.

also, can i just say HELL YEAH that for ONCE, a cookbook on amazon actually has a table of contents that is a list of recipes that you can see before you buy? i don't understand why this isn't more common/mandatory. so many cookbooks coming out, and i just want to know if it contains things i actually want to make before i buy it, you know? [end of pet peeve]

in other news, very excited about a new top chef season! love that they chose the UK, as i think they have a rep for notoriously bland/boring food and i can't wait to see the local stuff that gets featured.

still haven't watched the bear - another substack i read (tv i say with ashley ray) panned it for it's inaccurate depictions relative to chicago (it was all in good fun and i've never even been to chicago) - but i didn't realize jeremy allen white was in it until recently. he was outstanding in shameless for years. and there is something weirdly and intensely sexy about him. i don't usually crush on actors or men in general but damn. anyway, guess i gotta catch up!

ok one last thing - i love a good amazon list. might you add the mortar and pestle you used in the tomato sandwich video?

Just bought the book! I’m excited for this. My mom used to boil down apples and make this super dense apple purée sweetener for use in Korean food and kimchi. I didn’t even miss white sugar.
